Cryptic Crook

Finally! This update has taken me weeks 😛 Mostly because it was one of those outfits where I kept changing little things and I think no amount of changing pieces was going to impress me it was a pain, but I settled on the pieces in the end. I also tried Fraps for the screenshots but I had so many problems with file types and images showing up too dark (my PSP program I use to lighten them generally lightens images anyway; so when I save thinking they’re fine, they’re actually not = stress).

When I was levelling my captain and I entered this BEAUFITUL solo instance I knew it would be a long time until I had another character here, and I wanted to capture the moment with screenshots, sparking my idea for a tomb robber outfit. This gave me the perfect opportunity to head to the buried treasure event and grab me a sack of gold, although a little awkward to dye as it doesn’t dye any dark colours >:-[.

The majority of the pieces are Isengard instance drops so it may seem a little strange to then use Radiant Armour for the chest piece but a lot of the Isengard armour has clipping issues, and the chest piece is one of my favourites in any colour and I couldn’t resist it in Crimson.

This outfit was actually just a compilation of all my favourite pieces at the moment, and they all work for an outfit so i’m super happy. I probably should have added some of the new emotes to it as well but I actually don’t have any of them yet! So much to do 😛

This will be my last update for a couple of weeks now as I am visiting family for a while for my Dad’s wedding, as well as starting my new job I want my focus to be on my real life for the moment as you may have read in my previous update post.

Masked Marauder

Prior my previous post about trying to find an outfit for the Cloak of Evasion I remade my burglar that day and planned to get the Ceremonial Thrill-Seekers Helm from the Skirmish barterer, which was easy now since the exchange system has been changed and I no longer had to do the Rift skirmish 10 times to get the right campaign marks (woot). While playing around in the Wardrobe I noticed the helm still is pretty brown and can’t be made black, so as usual the search began for black and roguish looking cosmetics which had some dark brown on them and lo and behold the Cloak of Evasion had just that when dyed black (basically it’s not really black when dyed, but matches the helm brilliantly in colour).

There are a few bootie options with this outfit, and I went for the quest reward boots with the dagger in them but any soft leather boots will work here. Also, with recent discoveries about the rooftops of Bree, how could I not take a screenshot up there with my shady hobbit burglar? A great alternate for this outfit is Cosmetic Lotro’s Rooftop Runner

Head: Ceremonial Thrill-Seekers Helm [Rift Skirmish Barter]

Shoulders: Fine Grey Company Wrap [Quest Reward Vol lll, Bk5]

Back: Light Cloak of Evasion [Level 75 World Drop] ~Black~

Chest: Hill-Man’s Cracked Leather Jacket [Quest Reward – Dunland] ~Black~

Hands: Spearman’s Singed Leather Gauntlets [Quest Reward – Dunland] ~Black~

Notes: I’m quite annoyed that lately my screenshots seem to be lacking in quality and having a lot of noise in them, so I’d like to update the screenshots in the last couple posts if I can work out where i’m going wrong, but I think I know why it just means from now on it will take twice as long to get my screenshots but I’ll do it if it means better quality.

Beige Bellona

In my previous post I commented that it was a challenge to acquire white cosmetics pieces from using white dye, and at the time I was typing that I had in mind the Westernesse leggings which instead turn a biscuit colour. This brought forward a new idea for a cosmetic outfit and a challenge to see what other items I could get to turn into this unique colour, and then I remembered the Cloak of the Dove, which in its default colour also is the same. I combined this colour with the umber that was on the leggings also and in no time had these rich looking colours together!

Shoulders: Westernesse Shoulder Guards [Crafted t5 – both Tailor and Metalsmith versions available] ~Umber~

Back: Cloak of the Dove [Lotro Store] ~Default/Washed~

Chest: Dwarf-make Radiant Armour [Crafted t4 – Tailor] ~Umber~

Hands: Gauntlets of Fém [Quest reward – Aughaire/Angmar] ~Washed/White~

Legs: Westernesse Protector’s Leggings [Crafted t5 – Tailor] ~Washed/White~

Feet: Fine Grey Company Boots [Quest Reward Vol lll, Bk5] ~Umber~

Notes: The alliteration’s are becoming much harder, after looking through a hundred words beginning with ‘B’ I came across Bellona, the Goddess of War – I thought it very fitting.

Casual & Carefree

I’m really pleased with how this outfit turned out, I’d had the chest and legs as an outfit before but with the cloak and hat added I love it even more on my elf.

Everything must have gone wrong while trying to take these screenshots and crop them, it was raining in 90% of Middle-Earth and I was limited as to where I could go where it wouldn’t be raining, and then night fell so I lost a lot of light. While cropping my pc ran very slow and I was getting very frustrated so I decided to just go ahead and wait, what’s another hour when it’s a Saturday? I could go get some lunch and try again later. So here is the result 🙂 (Notice it still didn’t change from night?)

Note: The Boots in the last image are not used in this outfit, however in my opinion suit it better. I did not include these since people might not have the pre-order items, but if you do they work great. Also this outfit may suit a burglar perfectly with a hood! Especially the rift cosmetic hood.

Head: Threadbare Hat of the Dunland Healer [Quest reward – Dunland] ~Black~

Shoulders: Padded Pristine Dwarf-Make Shoulder Guards [T5 crafted] ~Black~

Back: Plain Cloak [Outfitter in Bree] ~Black~

Dúnedain Defender

I have no idea when the alliteration will run dry on these titles, but here’s another one for you. (Let’s see how long I can keep it up!)

If you’re a fan of my last post, Skulking Scout, then you’ll love this little gem I came across just on my Captain. Tailored more to the Dunedain rangers it uses 4 pieces of the Isengard pre-order. They can work still if you have just one set from the pre-order, but combining ones from the three sets (Erolingas, Westfold and Helmingas) I was able to pick out the more black/green/dark pieces from the three sets.

Head: Traveller’s Hood [Store item] ~Black~

Shoulders: Shoulders of the Eorlingas [Isengard Pre-order bonus]

Back: Cloak of the Eorlingas

Chest: Radiant Armour [Crafted t5-light] ~Black~

Hands: Gloves of the Helmingas [Isengard Pre-order bonus]

Legs: Scarred Leg-guards of the Pren Gwydh Warrior [Quest Reward – Dunland] ~Grey~

Feet: Boots of the Westfold.

Note: I worked out that the photo’s using PrtScr have incredible quality compared to the in game screenshot button, so I will be using that from now on. May also update the Skulking Scout images since they’re bugging me with the quality.

Skulking Scout

I have been using this cosmetic for just over a year and it slowly got updated each time like when the Store came about with the Traveller’s Hood, and with some of the Isengard cosmetics.

Up until Isengard I was using Wolf-Pelt leggings in black (Quest reward from the lumber camp outside of Combe) They work just as good if you are a lower level player not able to reach Dunland yet, and with brown boots of another kind should still work.

Note: The gloves also have the same cosmetic as Leather Gauntlets from the armour venders in Esteldin.

Helm: Traveller’s Hood [Store item] ~Black~

Shoulders: Westfold Assault Shoulder Guards [Crafted t7 – light] ~Black~

Chest: Radiant Armour [Crafted t5 – Light] ~Black~

Back: Fine Quiver [Crafted t2] ~Black~

Hands: Hinchcliffe’s Doom [Quest Reward – Evendim Bounty] ~Black~

Legs: Scarred Leg-guards of the Pren Gwydh Warrior [Quest Reward – Dunland] ~Grey~

Feet: Hill-man’s Cracked Leather Boots [Quest Reward – Dunland] ~Black~
