For the entire week where I live by the beach, it has been sunshine and crystal blue skies. All of that typical rainy British weather has disappeared and everywhere I go there are people enjoying the sun and I couldn’t help but notice they had made the most of it and pulled out their summer wardrobes early.
This meant one thing: colour! It seems to have seaped into my Lotro as well, and my Hunter and Lore-master have now become very colourful as a result. I’ve once again been using my trusty Radiant Armour chest piece that works wonderfully in every colour, and by the end of this post I hope you love this top just as much as me.
Also, I watched Puss In Boots yesterday and have been a little obsessed with the plumed hats ever since!
Head: Elegant Plumed Hat [Lotro Store] ~Black~
Back: Drape of Evendim [Lotro Store] ~Grey~
Chest: Radiant Armour [Crafted T5 – Tailor] ~Sea Blue~
Hands: Ceremonial Mammutti Gloves [Crafted T5 – Metalsmith] ~Grey~
Legs: Scarred Leg-Guards of the Pren Gwydh Warrior [Quest reward – Dunland] ~Grey~

I understand that pieces used in many outfits on cosmetics blogs can be hard to acquire if it’s a quest item or reputation item, this second outfit I have deliberately kept basic without the reputation Lossoth gloves and quest Leggings, to show you that you can still make anything work even if they are the basic items from Bree.

Busy busy bee I have been raiding and playing lotro like a mad woman the past two weeks and even have another raid for tonight, times I’ve set aside for my blog and outfitting days were pushed aside when I was asked to group a few times and help some friends out and irl I’ve been having a lot going on so I apologise for the lack of frequent updates, I have the ideas but I’m just enjoying playing the game a little more for the moment I guess.
While putting together my previous outfit I nabbed this wonderful chest piece cheap off the Auction House and after trying so many leg pieces to go with it I had planned to do a black and gold outfit, but the legs worked so much better with Crimson and it all started to fall into place. I believe the chest piece is a drop from an Orc Abomination (level 70). I finally got a male character through the starting area and due to his level his screenshots will have limited areas, but I thought some crumbling ruins gave him a gladiator feeling, don’t you agree?
The gloves I picked up via a world drop a good +6months ago while levelling my Guardian and have never seen the cosmetics of them before, so if anybody knows please feel to let me know in the comments, and I mostly just wanted to show them off rather than expect anybody to grind for the drop (they dropped while I was hunting humanoids outside Helegrod for pages) so any gold and red gloves will do, like a lot of the Lothlorien/mirkwood style ones or crafted officers gauntlets will also work.
The point I think I’m getting at is that a lot of outfits I see on these cosmetics blogs I adore and if I wan’t to look the same there’s still always a couple things I change, and it’s the inspiration of only one or two pieces I use to get the same effect with the cosmetics pieces I DO have access to. Whether you are level 5 like my Warden here or 75 via the Auction Hall and the fantastic Wardrobe system you can still achieve the look you want regardless of level, but it still requires a bit of luck and coin in some cases!
Head: Helm of Rohan [Lotro Store] ~Crimson~
Shoulders: Dwarf-Make Campaigner’s Shoulder Guards [Crafted T5 – Tailor] ~Crimson~
Back: Summer Travelling Cloak [Summer Festival] ~Red~
Chest: Breastplate of Vigour [World Drop – Dunland] ~Crimson~
Hands: Leather Gauntlets [World Drop – Misty Mountains] ~Crimson~
Legs: Elven Warriors Armour [Crafted T5 – Metalsmith] ~Crimson~
Feet: Dwarf-Make Campaigners Boots [Crafted T5 – Tailor] ~Crimson~
A big thank you to Devonna for the fantastic Screenshot settings which greatly improved my game, I’m also still running the game in DX10, god only knows what beauty I can achieve when I upgrade to 11 soon❤

A generous kin member who understood my cosmetics obsession kindly sent me a cloak with a unique design which I had only seen rarely and I had to make an outfit with it. The challenge with this outfit was the amber colour of the squares on the cloak couldn’t be obtained via dye and after trying numerous pieces of armour in sienna, rust, orange and gold I decided it the challenge was on. The best I could seem to do was find pieces of armour that didn’t have the yellow-gold effect (which many do) and in doing so I found some fantastic gold and black pieces to use in another outfit also which I’ll get working on next week.
A lot of the cosmetics pieces from Dunland are not just from one quest and are repeated in a number of quests while you’re levelling to 75, from one character you can get 90% of all the new cosmetic pieces from Dunland. You can check out Devonna’s Guide to the RoI quest rewards to see where else the same cosmetic pieces can be picked up (and they will be named differently).
The helm was something I won on the Auction House and at first I used the Battle-mask of Rhun from the store for this piece but as I stated the cloak squares are more amber than the yellow-gold, but It also works pretty well I just wanted more of a ‘helm’ than a mask for the warrior feel in my screenshots. The Light cloak of Evasion is a cloak which won’t be expensive on the Auction House if you come across it due to It not being too fantastic in stats, and with everybody wearing the lovely gold Draigoch cloaks nowadays I’ve come across the cloak a lot on the Auction House recently.
Long yappy post so I will leave it here and say I am hard at work levelling and should only post once a week since i’m busy questing and levelling a tailor again (yay!). Below is the first time I tried this outfit using the Battle-mask of Rhun from the Lotro Store, I will leave it to you to decide your preference but I’m thinking of using it for my next update.

The gloves and boots are probably the ones that can be swapped out without too much difference if you can’t get hold of them, so long as they are the ‘chunky’ boots of dwarf-type they should give the same look, and any grey or gold gloves will also work. If I know the quest the rewards are from I will try to include it, but putting the pieces into a search engine will do just that if I have not included the quest name. This outfit is a favourite of mine for my Captain and Guardian, please like and/or comment if you like this one.
